Sliding gates require wheels with internal support on which to run. This one with a single ball bearing  is made of galvanized steel. The selection is quite wide, some of which have supporting forks, and other are 'wheel only'. These include gate wheels of diameters from 40 mm to 150 mm. The larger the diameter of the wheel, the less rolling resistance. However, the carrying capacity of gate wheels does not depend upon their diameter only. The wider ones are built to carry heavier gates, while the grade of the steel, and the quality of the ball bearings can influence their carrying capacity. Gate wheels could either have a V grove, or a U grove. The V grove wheels normally run on a steel angle, while the U grove wheels run on a galvanized steel track reference IBFM365.
